Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.
There are models that mop and charge themselves This is an advantage essential for families with children or pets. Many of the best performers in our tests have great ability to overcome obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a great option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin once it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're very adept at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected, vacuum robot were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to meet the task that is being completed. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.
The model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments as well as an wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to clean most of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to cover every spot (though the second time around usually can be effective). However, this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently goes over the same areas multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the top mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and more. It's easy to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it did not do particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you to monitor your children or pets while you're away. The dustbin and filter can be cleaned for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps keep the bin clean and improves suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. The robots have an extra wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them keep the area clean for longer. They also come with two side sweepers for cleaning along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which senses whether it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and control functions and schedules. You can also track the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app allows you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors, so you can easily identify which areas it's focused on or where it's got stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot should you need to. For instance my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the high point. The ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
